Clubbing in Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean ocean off the eastern coast of Spain. It’s known as the White Isle, it has the tale of two worlds, one being a hedonist’s dream and the other being a family’s favourite to visit. Ibiza is also very much so a boho dream as well, fabulous hippy markets in the north of the island.

I have been to Ibiza many times and enjoy the buzz of the island. Tourism is on the of the main industries there and there is a fabulous bus system that can take you across the island. It is so reasonable too. You can hire scooters and cars too which are reasonable as well. There are plenty of taxis also.

The clubbing season in Ibiza starts from May and finishes in October, there are the Closing Parties in the second week of October. The peak time in Ibiza is in August when the temperature is very hot – trust me, I know, I’ve been there! The tickets in the Peak for the nightclubs are most expensive, beaches are packed and there is competition for transport.

In regards to accommodation, the four main places to stay are: Ibiza Town, San Antonio, Playa d’en Bossa and Santa Eularia.

If you are going for the nightlife, then make sure you’ve done some research and looked into the clubs you want to goto and the resorts near them

If you are clubhopping you need to be aware of the travel between the clubs. When I went with a group of friends we decided on 1 club per night, if there were two clubs we wanted to go to, we stayed in that area. Be mindful as to what your budget is and where you want to stay. I stayed in San Antonio with my large group of friends, we had apartments with no AC which was a nightmare but we only needed it as a base. As I am a little bit older now, it’s good to look at self-catering apartments, or if you want the luxury hotels such as in Playa d’en Bossa, look at that too.

Ibiza is known for it’s world famous nightclubs which I have frequented in the past, they are all different and good fun. The clubs are mainly located outside of San Antonio, Playa d’en Bossa and Pascha is located by Ibiza Town, Amnesia is located in the middle of the island in San Rafael.

I have seen many World Famous DJ’s including David Guetta, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Armand Van Burren, Erick Morillo, Paul Van Dyk to mention a few, there are far too many to mention. The nightclubs are expensive, but worth a visit, there is so much choice depending on what you like! You can buy your tickets from the different clubs online for from any reputable website , tickets vary from 25 euro to 80 euro dependant on what club it is and what party night is on. Also, there are always promoters out and about and there are day-time parties as well at beach clubs too.

F☆☆k Me I’m Famous is David Guetta’s party night.

Drinks are expensive in the clubs, so be warned. Make sure you go to some bars before you go there. You can get the Disco bus also, which you can get across the island for 3 or 4 euros on way which takes you to many of the club and party resorts.

There are plenty of beaches to sunbathe on, boat parties to attend too.

I went on a boat party to Formentura which was overpriced on a charter boat when we could have got a smaller boat for 5 euros instead of the 35 euro that our rep charged us. I got a refund needless to say!

As a visitor to Ibiza, at the top of your must do list is is to watch the beautiful sunsets by Cafe Mambo and Cafe del Mar. It is beautiful, listening to fabulous dj’s with a cocktail in your hand. Then once you’ve done this, go and party! I have so many great memories of this.

The website for Cafe Del Mar is: Cafe Del Mar Ibiza

I visited Cafe Mambo which is located in San Antonio in the day and had champagne sangria which was to die for! Café Mambo Ibiza (cafemamboibiza.com) I visited when Erik Morillo played at Pacha, so this was a few years ago! Prices at Cafe Mambo have changed as now you have to pay a minimum spend for a table which is pricey! When I first went there, we ordered a drink and sat on the pavement outside watching the sunset.

I’ve spent two weeks there clubbing, it was good fun and have been back for a long weekends, whatever you do, do your research, buy your tickets online and enjoy.
