Sydney, Australia

Having driven from Melbourne to Sydney, I could not wait to see the iconic Sydney Opera House, the iconic Harbour Bridge and explore!

We had accommodation in central Sydney and walked everywhere. Places to visit include the Royal Botanic Garden which is amazing, we saw fruit bats and exotic flowers: What’s On – The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney (nsw.gov.au)

We walked along the harbour and saw the Sydney Opera House which was so impressive, we took in the vistas and the skyline.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a marvel of architectural design, I wished I could have booked a tour to climb it, always next time, It is expensive, but if you are there only once, go on and do it ! BridgeClimb Official Site | Climb The Sydney Harbour Bridge The views are outstanding.

Walking along to Darling Harbour we decided to go on a boat trip! There are lots to choose from, have a look here : Sydney Harbour Cruises – Plan a Holiday – Dinner Cruises & Attractions

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the harbour’s history and the views, it’s a must do! When I visited, there were whales in the harbour! It was a rare scene there, tv cameras were out and crowds were everywhere. It was wonderful.

The Sydney Opera House is a sight to behold close up, Sydney Opera House – Events, Tickets, Shows, What’s On & Concerts. Here’s one of my photos of it!

We explored The Rocks which is a fun place to visit, it had a lovely feel to it. It’s located near the Opera House and has lots on offer. There’s the Bridge climb, various galleries and museums to explore. There are walking tours also and you can hire some bikes too! There is something for everyone. On the weekend, there is a fun market “The Rocks Market” where you can buy something different and unique.

After all the walking and the shopping we went to have some famous fish and chips at Doyles on the beach: Doyles – Always the finest catch/ The food was so good! You must check it out.

After this we went to Bondi Beach, Bondi is known as one of the most famous beaches in the world, it reminded me of an English beach to be fair with the iron work. I thought it would be much bigger, it was a tad disappointing for me, but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.
