Port Campbell, The Great Ocean Road,

Port Campbell is located along the Great Ocean Road, it’s in a bay protected by pine trees. There are plenty of things to do there, there’s a great beach where you can go swimming and is a holiday resort close to all the beautiful attractions of The Twelve Apostles and includes London Bridge, a rock formation that has been pounded by the sea!

When I travelled here with my family, we had no accommodation booked so we went to some self catering apartments and found some accommodation for us. It was clean and reasonable and had an outdoor balcony where we had Happy Hour with some champagne and looked out towards the Port Campbell Jetty.

We found a local restaurant called The 12 Rocks Beach Bar which is family owned, we had a lovely meal and the staff were lovely.. They even organised a Birthday Cake for my Uncle. After our yumtastic meal, we walked off our dinner whilst walking towards the jetty which is famous, so we strolled along there to look at the sunset.

The next day, we walked along the trail – Port Campbell Walking Track, this is accessible from Port Campbell Beach, be mindful as we walked when the tide was low and joined the steps leading up to the cliff top. The trail took us up a height, but the view was fantastic, we could see the harbour and rowers along the surf! We sauntered along the trail looking out to sea and looking at the local fauna and flora.

When we walked back towards Port Campbell Beach, the tide was rising so we had to get over safely from the trail to the land but quickly. It was so funny. We all had fun and got a bit wet! So keep this in mind!

We then decided to go explore the next place on our itinerary, all will be revealed in my next post.
