Saint Maarten is an island in the North Carribean Sea which has been divided since the 17th century. It is divided into two, one being the French Republic and second being the Kingdom of The Netherlands. The French half is slightly bigger and the French capital is called Marigot.
I visited the southern Dutch part capital which was Phillipsburg . We got a water taxi which was $7 return and we visited the beach.
We had a beach day, chilling reading books and swimming in the Caribbean sea.
The locals were friendly and dutch and they were very warm.
A pleasant day was had in the sunshine! I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
