Hello there readers,
Hope you are all well.
This weekend, I went with my best friend for a girlie day full of fun upto London for some retail therapy and a splendid Afternoon Tea.
I love the art deco period, the style, everything about it. I love tea too so what did I discover, an Afternoon Tea in an art deco hotel in Mayfair, London. Hurray!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely doormen in a top hat and cloak who took our coats and gave us a token, then we sojourned into the Afternoon Tea area where we were greeted by lovely staff, a beautifully designed art deco room with exquisite mirrors, lighting and stained glassed ceiling. The package was called Lock &Co Afternoon Tea. Lock& Co are milliners who are neighbours to the hotel who have an extensive history.
I had booked the experience a few weeks before and were met by congenial staff who were smart, informed and discreet. Our table for two was positioned by the harpist who played contemporary songs as well as old favourites. Our table had beautiful napkins and tablecloths and lovely crockery.
We were given our menus with plenty of choice of Classic Afternoon Tea, as well as Vegetarian. There was a great choice of Afternoon teas to choose from, I spoke to the waiter and asked what he recommended he advised ” Art Deco tea” which was a strong but lovely tea. We went for the Classic Afternoon tea package which was £39 and I upgraded to Free-Flowing Bubbles Afternoon Tea which cost £48. The bubbles kept coming and I had at least five glasses of champagne.

The sandwiches were tasty and had a wonderful choice which included: Cream cheese and cucumber, coronation chicken, salmon, roast beef with horseradish, egg and hummus. We then had a canvas bag which contained the Lock & Co Logo and inside it was two plain scones and two fruit scones, we had plenty of butter, jam and cream.
After this we consumed five cakes which had been intrinsically designed as hats with wonderful flavours.

We spent nearly two glorious hours there, the atmosphere was lovely, laid back, the harp music and ambiance was second to none. The food was lovely and left the experience sated, happy and will definitely visit again.
