New York is a big city and so much to explore, we were there for five days and I still need to go back!
We visited the Empire State Building, such an iconic building and the exhibition is interesting. The views are spectacular too, it’s bit windy up at the top!
This to me in New York:
We walked past the Flat Iron building too, again another landmark.
We used the metro
Here we collected our tickets and we went and queued to get on the boat to Ellis Island and to the immigration musuem, but there was someone we wanted to see..
All I can say, is wow! Lady Liberty was much bigger than I thought. We got off the boat and walked around the base of the statue, you have to pay more if you want to get nearer. In my opinion, you don’t need to. We had such a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and you could see the cityskyline from Liberty Island.
After this we got back onto the boat to take us to Ellis Island Immigration Museum. It was so insighful, the history was so interesting, especially learning American history.
I learnt so much. My family had emigrated to USA via New York so it had such a resonance with me. I searched on the databases too and found my Great-Uncle’s details too.
On our way back to Staten Island, this was our view…
