Barcelona, Spain, a wonderful city to explore!
I went in Spring time and the sun was shining and the weather was hot! What a beauty of a city to explore. There is so much to see and do, there’s the beach, the Cathedrals, Gothic Quarter, Gaudi architecture everywhere, Las Ramblas, the list is endless.
We stayed on the outskirts in Barceloneta, not far from the metro. We had a 72 hour pass like always and used the metro! The transport was second to none and we walked miles taking in the sights of Barcelona including:
Bari Gothic
The Sagrada Familia, the Cathedral designed by Gaudi. We bought a timed ticket and I was astounded by the beautiful stain glass windows and the architecture.
We used a lift to travel to the top of the Cathedral and this was our view!
The view was outstanding, you could see so much. The lift only goes one way which is up, so wear comfortable shoes when walking down the stairs.
For Gaudi lovers you must visit:
We went to Playa Barcelona for a dip in the sea . After this, we had wonderful seafood and a jug of Sangria or two.
We also went to Camp Nou, the football mecca ! I’m not a mad footie fan but I enjoyed the tour. It is self-guided.
The architecture is amazing:
After lots of walking..we needed energy…
I loved this old shop too!
Barcelona is wonderful. You must go!
