Malmo

One minute, you are in Denmark, then over the Bridge and you are in Sweden!  Those who like Scandinavian fiction and programmes such as” The Bridge” you’d love it.

If you are in Copenhagen, while not take the train over? We did, and in 35 minutes we were there.

Malmo is easy to navigate, there is a tourist information centre near the central train station. We walked around the squares and enjoyed the feel of Malmo.

We walked to see the Bridge on a gusty day past some modern buildings near the  port. There were some wonderful cafe’s opposite the university which looked interesting with old fashioned typewriters in the front window.

Back towards the old town we found some lovely squares such as below:

We had lunch in a Swedish chain and had some wonderful chicken and a Swedish sauce, I tried the Swedish beer which was mighty strong but lovely.  The Swedish kroner is the currency of choice, not euros.

On one of the squares, I found a fabulous cafe called Folk a Rock, http://folkarock.se/wp.

It was fantastic, it was cool and edgy, had a cafe and you can have  ‘Soul food’ for lunch, they had soup, tea, coffee, cake, wine, beer and they have gigs there. A great find of scandi cool!
